Our Reasons for doing this project

Jimgentracer's Reason

Hi all

Just thought Id put a few words here to explain why I decided to help my mate Tasgentracer in this project. It actually started off with Tas wanting to research crashes in the Brecon Beacons.

I said that's a great idea and would help him.
However, on researching the Lancaster MK III in Voue, France where his Uncle Nigel perished during the war, I suddenly realised that the aircrew who perished in the accident with him would possibly never have their ancestry done for them.

This struck a cord with me and hence we began digging.

I hope at least one or more of the family or relatives of these persons get to see our work.
However, if not I feel better for doing it anyhow
and of course its a project that will take time and any time shared with my good friend Tas, doing this is time well spent in my eyes.

I would also like to thank many of my good friends online who have also joined in with the research from time to time and helped us develop the site.

Tasgentracer's Reason

I had a list of WW2 Aircraft Crash Sites in the Brecon Beacons which I gave to Jim as he appeared very interested in both of us making it a project for us to work on together.

So far all I have done is watch Jim do the researching, but have done a little to help every now and then. If anyone would like to add their penny's worth they would be more than welcome.

Alsgentracer's Reason

The reason behind me wanting to help with this projects started with me telling my mum about Jimgentracer's and Tasgentracer's project.

Mum asked if we were going to do other air crashes and I said I would like to do a local one.

Mum then mentioned a couple of air crashes that happened near Keyham Leicestershire, which is a small village where my mum was born and lived up until 1963

These are just 2 of many crashes that happened in Leicestershire during World War Two
